Dr. Kimberly Samaniego, MDTP Director at University of California, San Diego

Dr. Kimberly Samaniego is the Director of the Mathematics Diagnostic Testing Project (MDTP) and the Director of Math Testing and Placement (MTP) at UCSD. Since becoming the MDTP/MTP Director in the Fall of 2015, Dr. Kim has focused on updating, expanding, and revolutionizing testing modalities, materials and resources, state-wide and local outreach, professional training to educators from secondary and post-secondary institutions, and access and support to the communities of both projects.

Sandy joined Carnegie Learning in August, 2000 after spending 14 years as a high school mathematics teacher, department chair, and coach. Sandy embodies the Carnegie Learning Way, believing that all students are capable of becoming strong, confident math learners. As Carnegie Learning's Senior Academic Officer, Sandy leads an instructional design team that leverages the best of academic research on teaching and learning theory to create the world's best math curriculum.

Sarah Galasso, Lead Math Solution Specialist at Carnegie Learning

Sarah Galasso began her career teaching secondary mathematics in Anaheim, CA. Sarah’s passion for math education and supporting diverse learners led her to an opportunity with the Irvine Math Project at the University of CA, Irvine, providing professional development and supporting local school districts as they developed K–12 standards aligned math curricula. She also partnered with Student Achievement Partners to review instructional materials and write a series of blog posts on the Standards for Mathematical Practice for AchievetheCore.org. Now, as a member of the Carnegie Learning team, Sarah works with educators across the western U.S. to help them bring math to life for their students.
