The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has partnered with Carnegie Learning to provide educators and students with free access to its highly rated middle school and high school content to support continuous learning efforts in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 school years and beyond. Two Times Learning Growth


In an independent "gold standard" study funded by the U.S. Department of Education and conducted by the RAND Corporation that included a Texas school district, the Carnegie Learning blended approach nearly doubled growth in performance on standardized tests relative to typical students in the second year of implementation. Stephanie Doran

Stephanie Doran has been in education for over twenty years, as a classroom teacher, program coordinator, and district specialist. She has been with Carnegie Learning since 2013, beginning as a Project Manager partnering with a large district to set goals, develop collaborative math classrooms, deepen content knowledge, and understand how to analyze data to help make instructional decisions. She now serves as the Director of Customer Success and appreciates the opportunity to partner and collaborate with schools and districts in Texas.

Shelly Mitchell

Shelly Mitchell has served as a Texas classroom teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal during the last 17 years. Julie Stowell-Moss

Julie spent 12 years in Texas classrooms teaching bilingual 5th grade to high school geometry. She specializes in supporting at-risk students to excel in mathematics. Julie grew up in El Paso, Texas and earned her bachelors and master's degrees from New Mexico State University. She has spent the last 3.5 years as an instructional coach supporting Middle and High School teachers across Texas to realize the potential in their classrooms everyday.

Wil Simpson

Wil has devoted over 20 years of service in support of educators and students. His career started as a high school math teacher where he served on school and district committees, spearheaded school-wide technology initiatives, and was recognized by his colleagues as Teacher of the Year. He served as an online administrator for nine years before joining the Carnegie Learning team in 2021, where he supported Math and English teachers, earned his doctorate, and was recognized by the governor for deploying a fully online MTSS model.

Aaron Houston

Prior to joining the Carnegie Learning team in 2021, Aaron worked as a high school math teacher and a Secondary Math Strategist in Grand Prairie ISD. He has nine years of classroom experience teaching Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebraic Reasoning, and Math Models. He also has three years of experience at the district level: coaching and supporting teachers in planning and in Professional Learning Communities, developing curriculum-based assessments, and delivering professional learning. Aaron currently lives in Mansfield, Texas with his wife and two daughters.

Anella Wetter, M.Ed.

Anella is responsible for creating successful partnerships with state education agencies and school districts across a quarter of the United States. An avid reader, writer, and thinker, Anella believes that the most basic tool available to a society to reimagine itself is the education of its children. She aspires to personally challenge K-12 leaders to be brave, to create a legacy, and to NOT settle for the way it’s been done before.

Sami Briceño

Sami has over 13 years of mathematics facilitation experience as a Senior Manager of School Partnerships with Carnegie Learning. Before this, she lived the role of instructional coach, district mathematics specialist, and was the  Senior Program Coordinator for the Charles A. Dana Center at the University of Texas-Austin. Her classroom experience is in middle and high school mathematics, which include the use of Carnegie Learning blended learning instructional resources. She has spent the past year and a half working on Texas Home Learning in partnership with TEA, first fully customizing Carnegie Learning's Texas Math Solution and now designing and authoring additional instructional materials to enhance the user experience.
